Our Research

Catherine Leroy returned to Paris after the war in Vietnam in 1969. After her experiences in Beirut, Lebanon she swore off war coverage. Leroy originally sold her work to United Press International and The Associated Press, then later worked for Sipa Press and Gamma. In 1972, Leroy helped shoot and direct a documentary "Operation Last Patrol" about anti-war Vietnam veterans. Leroy was also the co-author of the book God Cried, which can be found at libraries all over.
Later in Catherine Leroy's life, she founded and ran a vintage clothing store, Piece Unique that is located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Piece Unique also had an online gallery of images from the Vietnam War called "Under Fire: Images From Vietnam". Leroy ran the clothing store until her she passed away.
On July 8, 2006 after battling lung cancer, Catherine Leroy passed.
