The pilots had little to no control of the plane and were forced to make an emergency landing in Sioux City. The crash resulted in 112 fatalities and 184 survivors. In just 48 minutes of the crash, 196 patients were transported to St. Luke's and Mercy, the local hospitals. 40 communities and 80 emergency vehicles helped Sioux City. Around 300 agencies were involved in the process as well. With this crash, the community came together and broke barriers.
