Henry Ford, an automotive innovator, diversified the workforce, mass-produced cars, and as a result monopolized the auto-industry
In the era of Reconstruction and the Great Migration, Henry Ford innovated the automobile industry. Foundational to his success, was the development of the assembly line which facilitated the mass production of automobiles. Henry Ford completely revolutionized not only Detroit, but all of America. Ford transformed America by diversifying the workforce and ensuring that car ownership was more accessible to citizens across economic boundaries. While flawed in numerous ways, including his anti-Semitic views and beliefs, his mechanical genius created opportunities for many Americans and broke barriers in the automotive industry.
