The May 17-19, 1924 Notre Dame riots against the Ku Klux Klan were revolutions to ensure that the Klan would not take control of South Bend. Since this happened, the Klan's activity in the South Bend area became limited. Although negative reactions followed it, the riot proved that Notre Dame and anti-Klan forces would keep on fighting the Klan until the end of time.
