"Blue Ribbon Sports logo" ("RBS Store")
The brand Nike started their company in 1962 as Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS) ("Nike, Inc."). Nike created a turning point in shoeware starting in 1962 through the 1980s. In the 1980s Nike came out with a shoe called the Air Jordans, which made the company reach its goal in finance and popularity (Knight, "High-Performance..."). Nike's turning point was the result of an overall leadership in the shoe industry ( Knight, "Nike's Fiercely Competitive Phil Knight").
