Ever since the massacre, the CPC has censored many things relating to the Tiananmen Square protests and massacre. For example, the most popular search engine in China, Baidu, states that the massacre a myth. Then, no other sources talked about it.

"Before 2011, I knew nothing about Tiananmen. I think that the government somehow brainwashes you through education.

- Richie Li

After the massacre, the people of Beijing created the Tiananmen Square Massacre remembrance statue. But in October of 2021, the Chinese government ordered the removal of the statue. This is another reason how the Chinese government is trying to keep the country censored from the previous events.

Overall, the failed diplomacy from the Tiananmen Square Massacre sent China into a new era of true censorship.
