Horse and Buggy

Before the invention of the car if you wanted to go somewhere your only option was horse and buggy or walking. A horse cost $150 in the 1900s (which equals $5,000 today). A horse and buggy was a lot faster than walking or running, but it still did not compare to the first cars.

Before Henry Ford innovated the assembly line to produce cars it would take a long time to go anywhere. The average person never traveled more than 25 miles from their home. Another problem with horses is that you had to take care of them like feeding them and providing water, they could also be unpredictable, so you had to train them. They also did not need gas. But buying gas is more worth it then buying a new horse every time the old ones die or ge tired.
