Bentley's influence on other car companies and the world is that Bentley started the high performance and luxury car segment that is how they broke a frontier. In 1939, Rolls Royce bought Bentley. (“Bentley History”). Bentley Went Bankrupt in June 1931 because W.O. Bentley was not a businessman (“Bentley Was the Father of British Sports Cars.”). In 1950 Bentley had an influence on Aston Martin (“Bentley Was the Father of British Sports Cars”). “From modest beginnings, Bentley has moved from strength to strength – in a relentless pursuit of both luxury and performance” (“Bentley History”). In the 1950s Astion Martin put the engine from the Lagonda into an Astion Martin   (“Bentley Was the Father of British Sports Cars”)  Bentley had an influenced  Rolls Royce in 1933 (“Bentley History”).  Rolls Royce produced 3/1/2 liters capable of 90 miles per hour (“Bentley Motors a Century of Class” ). “Sportiness and performance were core brand characteristics during the 12 years of the marque's existence. The 4.5- and 6.5-liter Speed Six models became legends because their sturdy construction made them ideal for the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans.
