-May 1 1939, Senetor Harry S. Truman Signs a Bill allowing blacks to be in the miltitary

-Jan. 16, 1941, The War Department forms a 99th Pursuit Squadron to train at Tuskegee, Alabama

-July 19 1941, The Tuskegee Airfield offically opens

-Mar. 7 1942, The first class of Tuskegee Airmen graduates 

-Jan. 1944, 322nd Squadron arrive in Italy and attach to the 12th Air Force

-June 25 1944, The Tuskegee Airmen destroy a German fighter ship

-Sep. 10 1944, Four pilots of the 322th Fighter Squadron are awarded Distinguished Flying Crosses
