Little Turtle was one of the most important chiefs in Native American history. During his leadership in the 1700's to early 1800’s, he led the Native American warriors into battle and eventually led them into peace (Ray). Little Turtle was a revolutionary leader during his time because of his battle tactics and his wins against the American soldiers. In reaction to his efforts the Native Americans made peace with each other and made peace with Americans (Ray). He impacted the Natives by ending the war and freeing prisoners (Ray). Little Turtle had a significant influence on the way of life for the Native Americans, from farming to maintaining peace among the people. Little Turtle was very important in the Native American society. He gave the Natives a better life and he was one of their strongest leaders. Little Turtle was also perhaps the best Native American tactician in the Northwest area (Rafert 51).
