"Golden Image of Little Turtle"
Little Turtle was an important part of the Natives’ lives. He was important because he won battles against the American soldiers, taught the Native Americans to farm, and signed the Treaty of Greenville. He also tried to protect his land when the other tribes sold it (Turtle). He won one battle against the American soldiers, St.Clair's defeat, in which his army took down 630 officers and the Americans lost thirty-two percent of their manpower (Rafert 52). Little Turtle ended the war when he signed the Treaty of Greenville (Ray). Little Turtle ended hostilities, traded prisoners, and made new borders when he signed the Treaty of Greenville( Ray). The new borders took most of the Native land (Turtle). Little Turtle had to request farming materials because the natives could no longer hunt and follow the animals (“I. Address of Little Turtle”).
