Ruby bridges impacted the world by helping desegregate schools. After that day many more african american children started to enroll in all white schools (Biography). Years later her four nieces enrolled in all white schools (Biography). There were some protests that started when she went to school and when parents started to take their kids out. The trouble wasn’t just at the campus ground. People were throwing rocks and bricks at passing cars (Biography).Some even threw flaming bottles of gasoline (Biography).during this time White people drove around at night putting flaming crosses in blac neighborhoods as a warning (Biography). There was a segregationist organization called the Ku Klux Klan also known as the KKK that had been burning crosses in front of black homes for many years all over the south (Biography).White parents were traveling from new orleans to baton rouge to protest school integration (Biography).
