Importance
(Ruby bridges 6 Years Old and Desegregating a School)
Ruby Bridges' importance was that she helped desegregate schools around the world. By the time she went to high school more schools around the world were desegregated (Biography).She is known for helping desegregate schools and get better education for children. Education changed after Ruby Bridges went to school because more black kids could have better education. Meanwhile the districts were trying to delay the children from going to the all white school until November 14 when Ruby Bridges went to William Frantz (Biography). While Ruby was going to school her father lost his job, the people at the grocery store refused to sell groceries to her mother and her share-cropping grandparents got evicted from their farm which they have been living on for a quarter of a century (Biography). Over time more African American children started enrolling in all white schools (Biography). After she graduated from elementary school she graduated from a desegregated high school (Biography). Later on Ruby Bridges wrote two books and got a Carter G. Woodson book award (Biography).
