                     The Influence of Ruby Bridges

                                                                                                              ("Protesters out side rubys school")

Years after the event Ruby is still influencing people, many of whom are teachers and children. Ruby Bridges influenced many children today to play and include other children who may not look the same as them. That helped students have a better education in school because kids could have more friends and black kids could have the same education as whites. She influenced the teacher by giving an example of when she went to school a white lady taught her when nobody else would because of her skin color (This is Your Time). Bridges said that “she did look exactly like the people outside that were screaming and yelling” (Norman Rockwell Museum). Her teacher Barbara Henry soon became her best friend. Ruby even said that “she was not like the people outside” (Norman Rockwell Museum). She would even ask her teacher why she wouldn't see any other students (Norman Rockwell Museum). She said as time went on she would start to hear children and she would tell her teacher “Mrs.Henry i Hear kids” but she would not respond (Norman Rockwell Museum).Ruby thought that her teacher was ignoring her but really she was going to the principal's office and saying to the principal that they are breaking the law because now kid can be together now but the school was hiding them from ruby (Norman Rockwell museum). On the first day that she got to learn and play with other kids a little boy came up to her and said that he couldn't play with her because his mom said he play with her because she is black.
