The creation of The University of Notre Dame is a Catholic university that was a frontier in providing a Catholic education for students (Wack). Notre Dame is known for many accomplishments but it is mainly known for its ability to provide a Catholic education for its students. If fact Notre Dame actually has some of the best and most successful Theology programs worldwide which is why Notre Dame is known for breaking the frontier of Catholic education ("About"). Notre Dame specifically is ground breaking because it was able to provide a Catholic education in a time when Catholic universitys were scarce
