Importance

Notre Dame is important in the world today because the students and teachers are making incredible discoveries in many fields such as, “astrophysics, radiation chemistry, environmental sciences, tropical disease transmission, peace studies, cancer, robotics, and nanoelectronics” (“About”). Because of some of these breakthroughs, the University of Notre Dame is important to the lives of so many other scientists and educators worldwide (“About”). But Notre Dame is not only important because of its discoveries and creations but it is also important when it comes to the Catholic faith and theology (“About”). One example of this is that they make the Catholic faith the focus of all the classes that they provide, even if it is not a theology or faith class (“About”). In other words, Notre Dame makes sure to incorporate the Catholic faith and its beliefs into all that it does (“About”).
