The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is an important document that united the world in its commitment to protecting fundamental human rights (“Universal Declaration of Human Rights” FDR Presidential Library). For the first time, it established universal rights to which all people are entitled, and it has been translated into over 500 languages ("Universal Declaration of Human Rights, OHCHR"). The UDHR ensures that individuals are not judged based on their race, language, or political opinions ("Universal Declaration of Human Rights"). Today, it remains a cornerstone of international human rights law, inspiring treaties and organizations worldwide to uphold the dignity and equality of all people (“The Universal Declaration…”). Its global influence continues to shape how human rights are recognized and protected (“The Universal Declaration…”).
